To establish an alternative ISP in Bangladesh aiming at provision for affordably priced Internet services to educational and research institutions, social organizations as well as Govt. agencies on a sustainable basis.
To initiate the integration of Grameen Bank's office system with Internet facilities between the Head Office, Zonal Office and Branch levels.
To promote awareness of the Internet and Computer networking in Bangladesh.
To promote development of communication and ancillary services for freer flow of information and knowledge to bring social and economic changes.
To provide communication services, including cellular telephone, internet, intranet, data network, fax and advanced information technology services in Bangladesh.
To devise a management system which will enable the poor to have access to an effective communication network throughout the country as well as and internationally and obtain knowledge and information on products, processes, services, markets, supplies, opportunities, prices, and reduce the role of middlemen.
To develop a network that would meet the communication needs of educational institutions, centers of higher learning, research institutions, NGO's, government offices, local and national government institutions.
To provide such communication services as may promote and support researchers, educators, planners, students, designers, news media, social activists, entrepreneurs, for improving their access to the national and global information.
To organise nation wide communication system for eliminating day-to-day communication gap between producers and markets and connecting business more effectively with markets within the country and outside, supporting new export initiatives by providing the poor with access to the new communication based technologies.
To provide a broad spectrum of services emanating from development and converges of modern communications, micro computers and micro electronics telephone exchanges, including cellular phones, card phones, radio telephones, rural telefax, data processing, electronic mail, ISDN, special video and television programs and such ancillary or related services that will promote economic and social development.
To undertake research and to participate in the development and setting up of new communication infrastructure, including fiber-optic cable systems and utilize the existing assets and resources in the country, in furtherance of the purpose of the Grameen Communications.
To establish, support and maintain research centers, training institutes, schools, laboratories, inspection centers or other institutions as may be considered beneficial for the work of the Grameen Communications.
To support, conduct and arrange training programs, seminars, workshops and meetings for promoting interaction amongst Non-Government, Semi-Government and Government organizations, Voluntary agencies and societies, Local government bodies, institutions and individuals for attaining the objects of the Grameen Communications.
