Sixty-three Hunter PSN-Grameen scholars have moved to university over the last three years. This scholarship program called the 'Hunter PSN-Grameen Scholarship' started in 2008 to provide financial assistance to 500 high school students from the Hunter Foundation, UK. Currently 63 Hunter scholars are studying in undergraduate level in different universities of Bangladesh. Another 169 students are studying in higher secondary level and 268 in secondary level. Scholars are provided scholarship support on a regular basis.

Shirin Merali Scholarships started from July 2010 |
The Shirin Merali Scholarship Program funded by Mr. Pandju Merali started from July 2010 under Grameen Shikkha management. The scholarship program is providing financial support to 200 poor meritorious girls studying in different universities and colleges of Bangladesh. Of the scholars, 100 are studying medicine and engineering and another 100 are studying business, law, social sciences and arts in the best universities and colleges of the country. A medical/engineering student under the program is receiving 5,000.00 taka every month and a business/law/social science/arts student is receiving 3,000.00 taka every month as scholarship. Scholars will be receiving scholarship support until completion of their degrees. Grameen Foundation is working as sponsor of the program on behalf of Shirin Merali Education Foundation founded by Mr. Pandju Merali. The Shirin Merali Education Foundation is working toward empowering disadvantaged girls in poor countries through education. |

Grameen Shikkha has trained Grameen Shakti technicians and field assistants |
According to an agreement recently signed between Grameen Shikkha and Grameen Shakti (Grameen Energy) -- the biggest solar energy company in Bangladesh, Grameen Shikkha has provided training to more than a hundred Grameen Shakti technicians and field assistants. The agreement was signed on January 26, 2010 by Grameen Shikkha Managing Director Ms. Nurjahan Begum and Grameen Shakti's acting Managing Director Mr. Abser Kamal. Grameen Shikkha provided the training under its vocational training program called 'Grameen Shikkha - CISD Vocational Training Program'.

GSRD Foundation and Citi Foundation Join GS Scholarship Program |
GSRD Foundation in Netherlands and Citi Foundation are providing scholarship support to poor meritorious students of Bangladesh through Grameen Shikkha management. GSRD Foundation is sponsoring 51 scholarships for poor meritorious high school students.
Citi Foundation is sponsoring another 35 scholarships for poor undergraduate female students in six different public universities in Bangladesh.
