Micro-Enterprise Lending
Financing small projects and micro-enterprises is another primary activity of Grameen Fund and it is increasing at a good pace. The scheme started its operation in late 1997 and up to August 2002 the number of approved projects is 356. The cumulative loan disbursed amounts to BDT 41.42 million in 313 projects. Some 74 micro-enterprises in rural areas have received a total of BDT 8.42 million as loan from GF during Jan - Aug 2002 under this scheme. Total loan outstanding to micro-enterprises as at June 30, 2002 stood at BDT 18.2 million. Financed sectors included poultry, dairy & fishery, engineering workshops, agriculture, auto engineering, services, handicrafts etc.
