Grameen Trust undertook a Fact Finding Mission in Paraguay from June 15 to 21, 2008, at the invitation of the Jerovia Ne'Eme Foundation, to set up a Grameen program there. The mission visited poverty pockets in Asunción and San Pedro. Microcredit outreach in Paraguay, one of the poorest countries in South America, is very low.

GT-IDB Conducts Feasibility Study

Grameen Trust conducted a Feasibility Study in Indonesia from May 6 to 18, 2008, to set up a Grameen microcredit program in the country. The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) facilitated the mission with support from Bank Muamalat. The mission visited poverty pockets in greater Jakarta region and Lombok. Despite the growth of microfinance sector in the country, the poorest, especially those in remote rural areas in Indonesia, remain unserved.
