Visionbank, Philippines: The first microfinance-oriented rural bank created for the purpose of retailing credit to small borrowers, has been approved by the Monetary Board (MB) as Bangko Sentral Ng Philippines (BSP) drives for the establishment of more lending institutions catering exclusively to micro-borrowers.

With location in Bato, Catanduanes, Visionbank would give micro-borrowers the access to banking services that is specialized in microfinance related banking services that small borrowers can't easily avail of with the other four banks in the province of Catanduanes, because they have to travel to the provincial capital to do so.

Visionbank has an authorized capital stock of P 80 Million, while its initial paid-up capital was P 9.03 Million. It is owned by the Agricultural and Rural Development for Catanduanes Inc. (ARDCI), a non-government organization, a spin-off organization of Catanduanes Agricultural Support Program (CatAg).
