The Third National Dialogue Program , jointly organized by Grameen Trust and Grameen Bank was held from 7 - 11 June, 1998. The objective was to begin a dialogue with and among the organizations which are implementing poverty alleviation programs in the areas which are not covered by Grameen Bank in Bangladesh, such as the urban areas, Chittagong Hill tracts and off-shore islands in the Bay of Bengal.
Five participants took part in the national dialogue representing organizations working in the cities of Dhaka, Chittagong, and Comilla.
During the field component of the dialogue program, the participants visited DSK (Dustha Shyastha Kendra) a Dhaka based urban Grameen Replication Project. Two days were also spent observing the operations of Grameen Bank branches.
All the participants have in the meantime submitted formal project proposals for funding support from Grameen Trust.
