Promoting Grameen in Central America

Salvador Munoz -- a participant of Grameen's International Dialogue Program -- now works as a voluntary consultant preaching and promoting Grameen Based Approach (GBA) in Central America. He has helped in organizing a series of workshops and seminars in Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua to promote village banking system that directly applies GBA. The objectives of these programs were to :

  • carry out a comparative analysis of the Village Bank methodology : Grameen Bank & FINCA International.
  • develop a plan of action to help existing institutions for promoting microcredit.
  • formulate institutional plans of action for consideration of the Microcredit Summit and Grameen Trust.
  • assist in adoption of measures that can lead to financial viability in micro-  enterprise financing methodologies
