Grameen Jameel Scholarship Started from May 2008

Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel, renowned businessman and philanthropist of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has started a scholarship program under Grameen Shikkha management for 500 poor meritorious students at secondary, higher secondary and university level of Bangladesh.

Grameen Shikkha will train Grameen Shakti technicians and field assistants

According to an agreement recently signed between Grameen Shikkha and Grameen Shakti (Grameen Energy) -- the biggest solar energy company in Bangladesh, Grameen Shikkha will provide training to Grameen Shakti technicians and fields assistants. The agreement was signed on January 26, 2010 by Grameen Shikkha Managing Director Ms. Nurjahan Begum and Grameen Shakti's acting Managing Director Mr. Abser Kamal. Grameen Shikkha will provide the training under its vocational training program called 'Grameen Shikkha - CISD Vocational Training Program'.

Hunter PSN-Grameen Scholarship Starts

The Hunter PSN-Grameen Scholarship has started. Sponsored by the Hunter Foundation, UK, 500 poor meritorious students in the rural areas of Bangladesh are awarded scholarship under this program. 318 students at junior high school level are receiving Tk. 250 per month and 182 students at senior high school level are receiving Tk. 500 per month. 282 of the scholarship holders are boys and 218 are girls.
