Global Communication Center (GCC) as an R&D wing of Grameen Communications, aims to produce and promote ICT technologies to provide social services (health care, education and business) to and generate income for the people at the BoP (Base of the Pyramid). The major target of research activity is to identify technical requirements and develop social services for the BoPers.
Since its inception, GCC is carrying out collaborative research with Kyushu University, Japan towards the goal of building a model for building a social information infrastructure for developing countries.
